Solid supported synthesis of novel γ-lactams using microwave irradiation

摘要：
Some new gamma-lactams [2-pyrrolidones; N(5-alkyl/aryl-1,3,4-thiadiazole)-2-oxo-3-cyano-4,5-diphenylpyrrole-3-ene] are synthesised from gamma-lactones and 2-aminothiadiazoles over neutral alumina under microwave irradiation. These products were obtained in excellent yield within few minutes at high degree of purity. Ecofriendly and environmentally benign solid supported methodologies under microwave irradiation have been adopted for synthesis of gamma-lactams.
