A broadband Low RCS Antenna Based on Double-layer Perfect Metamaterial Absorber

摘要
A double-layers perfect metamaterial absorber (DLPMA) in the microwave frequencies is proposed to reduce the radar cross section (RCS) of the circularly polarized(CP) tilted beam antenna, and it exhibits a wider band by reducing the distance between the three absorption peaks. Absorbing characteristics are analyzed and the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed absorber works well from 5.95GHz to 6.86GHz (relative bandwidth 14.1%) with the thickness of 0.5mm The main part of PEC ground plane for the tilted beam antenna is covered by this DLPMA. As compared with the circularly polarization tilted beam antenna with a PEC ground plane, the simulation results reveal that the monostatic RCS of the antenna is reduced significantly, the axial ratio has an improvement, and the performance of antenna is preserved simultaneously from 5.5GHz to 7GHz.
