摘要
In this paper, a mode converter from a rectangular waveguide TE10 mode to a circular waveguide HE11 mode for W-band is proposed. The power experiment has confirmed the designed mode converter. The converter consists of two parts: one is to convert the TE10 mode in the rectangular waveguide into the TE11 mode in the circular waveguide by using a square-circle transition; the second is based on the coupled wave theory, the TE11 mode is converted into a Gaussian distributed HE11 mode by using the waveguide wall smooth radius structure. The mode converter has a simple structure, easy to machine, and avoids the disadvantage of the corrugated mode converter which is prone to breakdown. Through the power experiment, the designed mode converter coincide with the simulation results.
