Distributed interactive video arrays for event capture and enhanced situational awareness

摘要
The application of distributed interactive video arrays (DIVA) for event capture and enhanced situational awareness is described. Such systems offer several advantages over single camera systems like multiple overlapping views for obtaining three-dimensional information and handling occlusions, multiple nonoverlapping cameras for covering wide areas, and active pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras for observing object details. DIVA can also capture human activities using three-dimensional human body gesture analysis.
