We discuss the algorithm for calculating nonstationary stratified flows, using the Euler-Lagrange coordinates. We numerically model the evolution of local density perturbation in a shear flow of a linearly stratified fluid. The computational results demonstrate the considerable distortion of a wave pattern by a shear flow.
