摘要：

It is shown that Personality Psychology is an interdisciplinary and currently highly dynamic field of psychology. This is illustrated exemplarily for six fields of research: (a) development of statistical and mathematical methods (e.g., structural equation and mixture distribution models) that are based on individual differences and optimize their analysis; (b) Implicit Association Tests as a complement to self-reports as measures of personality; (c) research on the cognitive and neural bases of individual differences in intelligence; (d) research on biological influences on temperament; (e) quantitative and molecular behavior genetics with special emphasis on the relation between normal variation and psychological disorders; and (f) prediction of academic and occupational success.
