摘要
This paper discusses an effective media approximation for multilayered photonic crystals, with a focus on the reflection and refraction of light at crystal boundaries. The proposed model has generalized boundary conditions for the electric and magnetic fields at a crystal boundary in order to take into account the existence of intermediate regions at the boundary where two distinct crystal structures meet.
