摘要
A series of amphoteric & amphiphilic chitosan derivatives with long alkyl chains as hydrophobic moieties and carboxymethyl groups as hydrophilic moieties were prepared and characterized for potential application as multi-functional paper-making additives. FT-IR, NMR, XRD and TO were employed to characterize the amphiphilic chitosan derivatives with various substitution degrees and their corresponding single hydrophobic and ionized precursors, and their solubilities in various solvent were also investigated. The amphoteric & amphiphilic chitosan derivatives may be applied as wet/dry-strength agent and sizing agent.
