摘要：

While there are several options for managing the small pupil during cataract surgery, adjustable iris retractors are beneficial when there is a risk of cutting or tearing the iris, such as with rubeosis. Appropriate use of this new surgical tool includes proper placement of the paracenteses and a gradual and limited enlargement of the pupil, perhaps to no more than 5.0 mm.
