摘要
Photonic-bandgap fiber (PBF) can effectively solve the problems of back-scattering and Kerr effect in the resonator for the resonant fiber optic gyroscope (RFOG). However, the polarization noise of PBF caused by temperature change still exists, needs to be tested and compensated. In our work, the mode transmission of a polarization maintaining PBF is analyzed. The birefringence and the temperature dependent birefringence of PBF are measured. The test results of the temperature dependent birefringence are basically consistent with the simulation in the environment above 0 degrees C, only one third of the traditional panda polarization maintaining fiber.
