摘要
More than 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely and most of them are born after gestational age 32 weeks. Mortality and morbidity are more common in these moderate-to-late preterm infants than in full-term children. In this review, mechanisms and epidemiology of long-term airway morbidity in moderate-to-late preterm infants will be discussed. We discuss the potential of viral respiratory infections to further aggravate abnormal lung function associated with preterm birth. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
