摘要
In company with their parents, when restless children attend dental consultations, regularly that restlessness impede their normal attention. Besides that, this lack of interest of their parents translates into hyperactivity in the child. In many cases, this behavior observed in the patient is an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The objective of this research is to know the attitude of the dental professional and the behavior of family members who act as caregivers of patients with ADHD in dental consultations. This study was performed by a systematic review using academic articles based on databases such as: Redalyc, Scielo, Pubmed, Scopus of psychological, pediatric and odonto-pediatric nature. As results of the research, it is determined that dental professionals do not have sufficient knowledge of psychology, do not have experience in the practice of care for this type of patients and therefore, this situation makes the consultation unpleasant, increasing the inappropriate behavior of the infant and with a lack of cooperation from the patient's caregiver. ADHD is a frequent condition in dental consultations, preventing assistance with diligence, efficiency and with little collaboration from the caregiver, obtaining unsatisfactory results.
