摘要
In this article, we have studied experimentally the frictional behavior of dry multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) nanoparticles between the metal-metal interface as function of areal concentration of the MWCNTs and normal load. The results show that critical velocity, at which stick-slip disappears, decreases with increase in areal concentrations of the nanoparticles. However, steady dynamic friction remains almost constant with the areal concentrations. These observations are explained on the basis of rolling and sliding motion the cylindrical carbon nanotubes. Future implications of the present study are also highlighted. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
