Financial and banking services can be defined as activities, benefits and rewards related to the sale and purchase of money that provide financial value for users and customers. Institutions that provide financial products and services can be grouped into: banks and financial institutions, companies specializing in insurance services, stock exchanges. Financial services institutions are operating in two major markets - corporate and retail, which interfere in their turn, with public and private, commercial and industrial, domestic and international sectors. Their dynamism, and also, all rapid changes in the evolution of this category of services have led us to a brief foray into their recent evolution in order to determine trends that have registered in the last period marked by economic instability. We will use statistic database provided by specialized institutions and specific statistical methods for concrete description of the evolution of this important sub-sector of the tertiary sector.
