摘要
A Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) video surveillance system consists of an array of Internet Protocol (IP) cameras connected to Wireless Access Points (WAP, conveniently initialed as AP) or wireless routers. These APs connect to the local server for local viewing and to remote servers via the backbone and the Internet for remote viewing. The proposed new wireless tree video surveillance scheme is compared with the star and wired tree equivalents on IEEE802.11g standard. Throughput results show that the wireless tree outperforms the other two by 100% with a packet loss of 2.3%. Further, the wireless tree implementation had its jitter, packet end-to-end delay values within the acceptable standard limits. The results were obtained using OPNET modeler 14.5.
