Novel MPPT Algorithm for Active Power Control of Multi-Level Dual-Active Bridge PV Converter Implemented in NI myRIO

摘要
To enable high penetration of PV systems into grid, it is imperative for the existing PV converters to perform load-following functions to be more dispatchable. Contrary to implementing energy storage systems or load shedding options for active power control, this paper focuses on implementing simple, inexpensive yet effective active power control strategy for twostage multi-level dual-active bridge converter (ML-DAB), interfacing each PV string. Modified perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm is proposed to perform active power control. NI myRIO generates the desired phase shift in ML-DAB to extract either maximum power or reduced power.
