Effect of pollen on cytoembryological processes in eggcells of seedless grape (Vitis vinifera L.) cultivars

A study was conducted on the patterns of the cytoembryological processes and the developmental rate of ovules in the seedless grape cultivars Sultanina and Corinth's White after their pollination with pollen of functionally different flower types - bisexual, female, male, typically male. It was found that the pollen of different origin had no significant effect on the parthenocarpic nature of cv. Sultanina, but it probably conditioned a different fertilization intensity, degradation of the eggcell apparatus and the secondary nucleus, destruction of nucellar cells and their separation from the inner integument, as well as ovular deformation. The effect of pollen from different flower types had no cytoembryological parameters in the eggcells of cv. Corinth's White, but the stimulating impact of pollen and pollen tubes on berry development could be assumed. The development dynamics in the tested embryological structures was specific and mathematically significant in the separate pollination variants.
