Foamed polyolefin parts normally contain constant cross-sectional wall thicknesses throughout the part. This study explored the effect of a variable cross-sectional wall with thin and thick sections. Flow analysis and FEA analysis was run to simulate deflections after loading and shown to be representative with an adjustment of the modulus based on the density of the foamed polyolefin.
