摘要
The UK Government's policy for industrial biotechnology is that through investment in infrastructure and project grants it can generate innovation, jobs and prosperity. In addition, it is likely that additional benefits will be accrued in reducing climate change through a reduction in CO2 and improving energy security through a reduction in the reliance on petrochemicals. The Technology Strategy Board is the UK's principal innovation agency and has made significant investments in industrial biotechnology-related projects. This article will give examples of some recently-funded projects.
