Limits of Responsibility for Plagiarism from the Perspective of Polish Criminal Law

The article analyses Polish normative solutions regarding criminal liability for the crime of plagiarism. The area of consideration included key components from the point of view of criminal law, as well as its variations defined in art. 115, paragraph 1 [Law on Copyright and Related Rights, 1994]. In this way, an attempt was made to determine the scope of criminal liability of a person who allows misappropriation of the work or misleading other authors as to his/her authorship. In the final part of the paper attention was paid to the issue of criminal sanctions that threaten the perpetrator of the crime of plagiarism and the statute of limitations on his/her criminal record.
