摘要
Mode-I transient responses of a piezoelectric ceramic strip containing a center-situated crack under the in-plane mechanical and electrical impacts are investigated based on integral transforms and the singular integral equation techniques. Numerical results reveal the great dependence of crack extension on both the loading combination and the ratio of crack length to strip width. It can be expected that the crack extension may be retarded by adjusting the loading combination parameter for a certain ratio of crack length to strip width. In addition, numerical results also indicate that the intrinsic mechanical-electrical coupling effects play more important roles in the dynamic fracture analysis of the inplane problem than in the anti-plane case.
