摘要
The energy band mapping has been carried out on Pt(1 0 0) with the unreconstructed (1 x 1) surface and the reconstructed (5 x 1) surface. Angle-resolved photoemission measurements to obtain basic data have been performed at PF-KEK using synchrotron radiation. Totally, 10 kinds of energy band mapping have been implemented. The results are in qualitative agreement with the similar data reported so far. The measured energy band dispersion is compared with the reported results of the energy band calculation. The bulk energy bands obtained with the free electron approximation for generated photoelectrons do not coincide with the calculated energy bands. Instead, the use of an effective mass modifies the band profile considerably and the reformed band dispersion approaches the calculated one. The employed effective mass has the value 1.38 times as large as that of the free electron mass. In case of the surface energy bands, reasonable agreement with reported data is found except a flat band occurring around sb = 4 eV. A few examples are selected and illustrated here.
