摘要：
The aim of this study was to evaluate the health situation of the water quality of the Dong River Basin in the Guangdong and the Jiangxi provinces. This was accomplished by characterising the periphytic diatom communities, as well as the physical and chemical characteristics of the aquatic environment, at 113 different sampling sites throughout the basin. The quality of the aquatic system of the Dongjiang River basin was assessed by utilising the Diatom index of biotic integrity (D-IBI).
