Cost-benefits relationship of avian coccidiosis profilaxis

Within the sanitary problems that affect fowls in the diversous production system modalities (broilers, layers, breeders, etc.), avian coccidiosis is one of the pathologies that frecuently is present in the farms, so much at world as nacional level, causing economic losts of 500 millions dollars annually, worldwide, so much by the presentation of disease in the clinical or/and subclinical forms. For that, within the market of anticoccidial drugs, will be analyzed and confirmed the existence of a favorable relation among the cost of avian coccidiosis control and economic benefits, direct or indirect, that is obtained with prevention of this disease. It being concluded in this work that, the economic evaluations must be based on the relation between the lost due to disease and the necessary expenses to try it, and/or to prevent it.
