Effect of slope and freeboard on step dike to wave overtopping

摘要
The wave overtopping rate over dike is influence major by the crest height, the surface roughness as well as the slope angle of the dike. Owen (1980) and van der Meer (1998) proposed several predict equations to estimate wave overtopping rate. Those equations are regressed from the correlation diagram of the dimensionless wave overtopping rate and the relative crest height of the dike. In this study, the above mentioned equation is applied to use for comparison. Based on the result of analysis, we can see the effect of the freeboard as well as the roughness of step surface to the wave overtopping rate is enormous. Several new correlation equations between the dimensionless wave overtopping rate and the relative freeboard were presented.
