摘要
This special issue of the Oxford Review of Education highlights new research on the social history of learners and learning. The collection as a whole is designed to reconstruct the experiences and processes of learning in a range of historical contexts, in formal educational institutions and informal situations, both in Britain and internationally. It considers how to approach the world of the learner in different historical, social and cultural contexts, taking forward the historiographical, theoretical and methodological developments of the past twenty years. This agenda for a history of learning is of value for social scientists, educators and historians as well as specialists in the history of education.
