摘要：

Virtual environments offer manufacturers the ability to evaluate current manufacturing capabilities, schedules, process plans, production processes, and new technologies before committing physical resources. This paper reports the research into a web-based virtual environments system for manufacturing management, particularly for supply chain management (SCM). The proposed system provides a series of 3D virtual manufacturing environments in which users can study and analyse material and information flow in supply chain cycle time such as resource utilization planning and transportation infrastructure.
