摘要
In the contemporary scenario, different violations of the human right to adequate food persist, from hunger to obesity. However, this right is still in a process of realization and dispute, given the sum of economic, political, social, food, environmental, climate, and health crises at the global level and their expression at the national level. This essay aims to critically weave an analysis of important elements for the realization of the human right to adequate food. For this, we opted for the methodological path of conjuncture analysis, most common in social research, with the argumentative and analytical construction of events, scenarios, actors, the relationship of existing forces, seeking to unveil what involves, obscures, or even reverses the social problem studied. The article is structured into three sections: the first presents the founding principles of human rights related to the right to food; the second exposes the participatory weaknesses in the realization of this right as a means of justice and social transformation; and finally, it discusses the challenges to the realization of food as a right for all, given the current crisis scenario in Brazil. In the field of public health, the need for the construction of a social protection net that aims to realize the right to food remains.
