THE RELATIONS BETWEEN PERCEIVED SELF-EFFICACY AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

摘要
Study assesses link between perceived self-efficacy and psychological well-being in university students. Cross-section ex post factum simple prospective study was used. 244 students (77 men and 167 women) aged between 18 and 30 (M=20,68; SD=2,71) participated. Both self-efficacy and psychological well-being were respectively measured using General Self-efficacy Scale and Ryff s Scales of Psychological Well-Being. One-way ANOVA was calculated to estimate statistical differences in students' psychological well-being according to their level of self-efficacy (high/medium/low). Furthermore, Cohen's d was used in order to establish effect sizes of differences. Results show self-efficacy is significantly linked to six factors (self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth) which comprise psychological well-being.
