Research of mobile map service for smart phone based on Mobile SVG

摘要
In this paper, a map service prototype which is J2ME-supported and for smart phone has been designed and implemented based on Mobile SVG technology. The Mobile SVG is suitable for map service. It is a text format and can be organized and transformed easily. The prototype consists of two parts. One is the client application, the other one is the Server application. The protocol between client and server is HTTP. The prototype's topological architecture and function architecture are described particularly. In addition, transforming between map data and Mobile SVG, graphics layer's organization and overlapping strategies and enhancing efficiency data transmission are discussed mainly. The prototype is tested based on map data of Beijing in Nokia E71 and experimental result shows that is valuable in future application and popularization.
