摘要
Since cables are used in wired LANs, system cost is high due to equipment installation and rearrangement. One of the hottest areas of LAN development is the wireless LAN because of advantages such as its mobility and easy installation. We have developed 2.4-GHz-band spread spectrum wireless LAN adapters with a data rate of 2 Mbps. With this adapter, an IEEE 802.3 Standard interface (Ethernet) is installed and a user system can be made wireless without changing the user's conventional network OS. This paper reports measurement results on the BER performance of the SS modem, computer simulation results on Multiple Access Control (MAC), studies on buffer size, and measurement results on the frame error rate as indoor propagation characteristics. Measurement results on the effective data transmission rate as a LAN system are also reported. (C) 1999 Scripta Technica.
