摘要：
Safety is an important issue in process design and operation in the chemical industry. It is, however, time and effort consuming to conduct a comprehensive process safety/hazards analysis. To aid human experts in conducting safety analysis in a more thorough and systematic way, a knowledge based software system (PHASuite: Process Hazards Analysis Suite) for automated safety analysis has been developed in this work. An industrial case study of a pharmaceutical process is used to illustrate the applicability and procedure of using PHASuite for automated safety analysis.
