Large-scale atmospheric dynamics for atmospheric chemists

The basic features of the atmospheric dynamical state, with an emphasis on temperature and transport, were analyzed. The effect of atmospheric dynamics on atmospheric composition was also studied. The motion and the thermodynamic state of the atmosphere including temperature, radiation, pressure, and density were closely analyzed. Atmospheric temperature and pressure affected many chemical reaction rates, as well as the phase of certain chemical species. The relevance of large-scale dynamics for climate chemistry, including ozone was also found to be important.
