摘要
This research work focuses on researching and evaluating modern tendencies in video-compression, estimating possibilities and potential of wavelet-transform, transform at oriented basis specifically, in the context of visual data compression. For this purpose several types of wavelets (Haar, Daubechies and oriented basis) and cosine transform were compared and analyzed. Possible improvements on existing video coding standards featuring transform at oriented basis were proposed. Results regarding effectiveness of reviewed methods are presented.
