The impact of married couples on firm innovation: Evidence from Chinese family firms

摘要：
This paper investigates whether family firms controlled by married couples have better innovation performance. Based on the Chinese patent data during 2008 similar to 2016, I find that married couples have positive impacts on firm innovation output for family firms in China. My identification strategy is based on matched sample analysis. I further find that this positive effect is more pronounced in well-governed firms.
