摘要
How this revolution could affect the shipbuilding world? Could we consider the concept Internet of Ships (IoS)? A commercial vessel could transmit its navigation situation, load situation or the things to be loaded. All these means a huge amount of information to be managed and analyzed. New software tools have to be developed to obtain the best use of such information, so the design could be improved from real design intelligence information and it could be self-maintained with the connection with a cloud. The growth of the Internet of Ships (IoS) is linked to the increase of information and how to manage it through Big Data. The possibilities are countless, but the beginning should be the same, the initial design. The use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) is one of the first steps, because it is where the design begins to collect systematically the concept of each component. That is why it is necessary to provide CAD tools to carry out the design for IoS.
