The aim of the present paper is to identify the value system of a social group of young people(1st year students of social work domain), from whom we can shape a more extensive research into young people's social value. The values are defined as an abstract set of principles which guide the individual's social life. Mostly, the individual values are created in the first stage of life and the fundamental role (part) in their formation is held by the family. During the whole period of life, the behavior pattern, the attitudes and the perception of others are guided and determinate by these values. The values are reinforced by the society, given that the source of the individual values stands in the individual's national culture, family, teachers, friends and other factors which came across with the individuals. The social values are manifested through norms and this norms reflects the group's values. The knowledge of the cultural values offers us information about the individuals' behavior belonging to the culture or society. This paper contains two parts: the first part, is a theoretic one, will present the most important definitions of the social values and the link between the social values and the attitudes, behavior and norms; in the second part of the paper, we will identify the most important values of the analyzed group of young, and we will try to identify the values system, system which can be applied to all of young people, who have in commune the same characteristics.
