Design and Implementation of an AC Voltage Driven Dynamic Circuit for Low-Power Bio-Electronics

摘要
Dynamic circuit design offers a smaller area and higher speed than complementary CMOS static circuits. Dynamic logic design is a popular technology used to design high-performance processors. However, the power consumption of the dynamic circuit is larger than that of the static circuit. In this paper, a pipeline operation dynamic-dynamic circuit (DD-circuit) is proposed to obtain both the advantages of low-power and high-performance, because the DD-circuit can be driven by AC-voltage directly, without requiring an AC-voltage to DC-voltage transformation. In this paper, we propose utilizing the DD-circuit design for implanted bio-electronics which can use the wireless transmission sinusoid AC signal as power. In addition, the DD-circuit is synthesized by using in-house charge sharing, leakage current, and an internal race alleviation cell library. Therefore, the DD-circuit becomes a feasible technique for designing low-power bio-electronics. According to our research, this is the first published work on this subject.
