Removal characteristic of landfill leachate by Fenton reagent

摘要
The optimal conditions for COD removal of landfill leachate by Fenton reagent (Fe2++H2O2+H+) were determined through the experiment of pH and dosages. Then the changes of relative molecular mass (M-r) and isolated fractions were analyzed between the raw and the treated leachate. The results of the experiment show that COD and UV254 present the same removal trend in all ranges of relative molecular mass by the Fenton reaction. Fenton reagent has better removal effects for organic matter with M-r> 2 x 10(3), whose removal rates can exceed 60%. But the removal rate is very low for the organic matter with M-r<2x10(3), which is only 35%. The removal effects of the isolated fractions of landfill leachate by Fenton reagent are FA (fulvic acid)>HA (humic acid)>HyI (hydrophilic). So it is necessary to improve the removal effect of landfill leachate by choosing the proper successive treatment processes of Fenton reaction.
