REDUCTION BEHAVIOR OF CHROMIUM AND IRON OXIDE IN MOLTEN STAINLESS STEEL SLAG WITH GRAPHITE

摘要
To reduce chromium and iron in stainless steel slag, the direct smelting reduction of chromium and iron oxide in molten slag was investigated by small furnace experiments. Graphite was used as reductant under condition of 1550-1600 square. Effects of temperature, slag basicity and slag composition on the reduction behavior of chromium and iron oxides in the slag were investigated. The slag basicity had a significant effect on the reduction behavior, and the reduction of oxides increased with increasing slag basicity. On increasing the Al2O3 content from 0 to 10mass% in initial slag, the reduction results showed that the content of chromium and iron decreased in slag.
