Raw material recovered paper - A view

The paper describes the development of recovered paper utilization and paper production on a global level and for the CEPI countries as well as a forecast until 2015 Based on a paper and recovered paper balance of the CEPI countries the potential of additional paper recovery is estimated. With a multi parameter model the average age of the fibre raw material in the German recovered paper for deinking is calculated. Model calculations are presented for 2015 and limit considerations are discussed. Based on former multiple recycling trials the effects on pulp and paper properties are presented. It is shown that for graphic papers a recycling collapse needs not to be expected.
