Supra-photorefractivity of C60- and carbon nanotube-doped nematic liquid crystals

摘要
We report theoretical and experimental studies of supra-photorefractive nematic liquid crystals doped with C60 and/or Carbon nanotubes. Theoretical estimate shows that the nonlinear refractive index change coefficient n(2) in such systems can be much greater than 1 cm(2)/Watt. Experimentally, we have observed n(2) of similar to 10 cm(2)/W, with typical nematic response times.
