Validation of the simulation models of the double skin facade

摘要
A mathematical model of the double skin facade (DSF) is validated with two test facilities. A simplified version of the double skin facade was constructed in the laboratory. It is focused on defining its heat performance including convection (free or mixed), conduction, radiation and transportation heat transfer. Measurements and simulations were made at steady state conditions thus no real weather conditions were taken into account. The flow through the model is driven by the buoyancy effect and/or by fan. Results from the laboratory test facility are used in modeling a test cell with a double facade situated outside the laboratory. This model is validated by experiments on this test cell under real weather conditions. Validated model of the building with the double skin facade can be used to analyze the performance of different configurations of the double skin facade and related control.
