摘要
Aim and Background: Worldwide there is shortage in organ donors compared to number of patients waiting for transplantation. This study is aimed to determine the awareness and attitude of community to words organ donation in Albaha region, Saudi Arabia. Materials and Method: This is cross-sectional questionnaire survey which conducted in Albaha region, Saudi Arabia during January- February 2018. Self-administered questionnaire was designed to determine awareness, knowledge and attitude participants to ward organ transplantation and organ donation. Result: The total number of participants who agreed to participate in the study is 385, all of them from Albaha region, Saudi Arabia. The mean age is 32 range between (15 -72). Sixty four % of participants are willing to donates their organ under certain circumstances. They can donate to their family or to any one among 48% and 41% of them respectively. The cultural reasons are the commonest refusal cause of donation among 46.8%. Age, sex and educational level are related to attitude of participants towards organ donation without significant relation. Conclusion: Most of participants are willing to donate their organ with high response, this willing is related to education and age of participant.
