摘要：
Some general problems in joint approximation, originally raised by Lee Rubel, are discussed. The emphasis is on spaces of analytic functions in the unit disc D. Besides giving a survey of known results for the Hardy spaces and the space H(D) consisting of all analytic functions in D, we announce some new results for the Dirichlet space D consisting of all analytic functions in D having finite Dirichlet integral.
