摘要
This article presents dynamic thermal rating system named SUMO which has been developed in Slovenia in order to improve system security and enable optimal utilization of the existing power system infrastructure. It is a modern information system that produces real time and close future estimations of actual thermal capacities. Currently, power systems mostly operate using static thermal capacity limits that have been determined considering constant values of atmospheric conditions. Project SUMO started in 2011 and approximately three years later, pilot implementation of four transmission lines from all three high voltage levels was carried out. By 2016, DTR was implemented on twenty additional elements. This article introduces SUMO system components, presents its scope of use and examines the results obtained from the system's analytics process.
