摘要
This paper describes the demand for an open system architecture to realize the most varied telemedical requirements. These include the consultation of experts and a distributed digital patient record, as well as the support of teleeducation. An open architecture of this kind on the basis of the Common Object Request Broker Architecture CORBA is described for deployment in a multifunctional Internet / Intranet environment. The platform-independent programming language Java allows the development of interactive user-interfaces for these purposes, in particular an image viewing and manipulation component for radiological images.
