摘要：
The reaction of bis(tetraphenylantimony) succinate with iodine in benzene affords [(mu(4)-succinato) hexadecaphenyltetraantimony] triiodide solvate with benzene [(Ph4Sb)(2)O2CCH2CH2CO2(Ph4Sb)(2)][I-3](2) center dot 4PhH (I). The symmetrically nonequivalent Sb(1) and Sb(2) atoms in the centrosymmetric cation of compound I have a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination mode with the oxygen atoms in the axial positions (Sb(1,2)-O 2.347(4) 2.525(4) angstrom; Sb(1,2)-C-equiv 2.109(7)-2.120(7) angstrom, 2.082(5)-2.106(7) angstrom; Sb(1,2)-C-axial 2.158(7), 2.121(9) angstrom; angles OSb(1,2) C 178.8(2)degrees, 174.5(3)degrees). The geometry of the [I3](-) anions is close to linear (angle III 179.41(4)degrees, I-I distances 2.880(1) and 2.921(1) angstrom) (CIF file CCDC no. 1486690).
