摘要
Introduction: Chest radiographs(X-ray) are a useful aid in diagnosing asthma in children. Objectives: The aim of the present study is to determine chest radiograph abnormalities in childhood asthma. Methods: Three hundred and nine asthmatic patients were studied with the age range of 5 to 168 months. 309 patients included into the study (191 boys and 118 girls). A standard posteroanterior chest X-ray was taken from the patients. Results: One hundred and seventy two (55.7%) chest roentgenograms were read as abnormal. Bronchial wall thickening was the most common detected abnormality (36.6%). Conclusion: Our study showed that chest Xray is required to diagnose childhood asthma.
