摘要
In this study, we analyzed the heat transfer mechanism in a slim double skin facade (SDSF). Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were exploited and the model was validated with measured data from full-scale experiments. Based on the simulations, we analyzed both the type and amount of heat that entered a room, in addition to the amount of heat released through the cavity. We also performed a parametric study on the effect of the type of outer glass on heat transfer. The results indicate that it is advantageous to use colored or low-emissivity glass as the outer glass to improve cooling performance using SDSF.
